Andrew Dawson is an originator and theatre artist. studying dance with Merce Cunningham, theatre with Phillipe Gaulier, Monika Pagneux, Jacques Lecoq and movement through The Feldenkrais Method. Over the last 30 years he has created numerous stage performances including the stage show of ‘Wallace and Gromit’, ‘Amnesia Curiosa’, ‘Pandora 88’ and ‘The Idiot Colony’. As Movement director, he has worked at English National Opera, MET Opera NYC and LA Opera on opera’s ‘Dr. Atomic’ and ‘The Pearl Fishers’ He was a lead puppeteer in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. With arts award from Wellcome Trust, London he created ‘The Articulate Hand’, featuring as 3 talks at TEDMED in San Diego and ‘The Russian Doctor’. With a commission form The Royal Opera House he created ‘Sprit of the Ring’ The whole of Wagner’s Ring Cycle in 30 mins told with his hands.
